The 2020 Edinburgh Festival is cancelled, due to you-know-what, so Christian will be putting a version of his new show, Magic Money Tree (about his adventures in economics) online in some form or another in time for August.
Here’s the blurb:
Can we can afford the NHS, a Green New Deal, world peace, and a pony?
Spoiler alert: YES! We just need to know why.
After several years of research and conversations with economists from all over the world, Christian presents his findings – hopefully before a needless austerity binge kills us all.
Can a musical comedian communicate this urgent idea? Have fun watching him try!
“A charmingly confident performer, an accomplished musician and a clever comic… The funniest songs I have heard in a long time” The Scotsman

Audience reviews for Gig Economy:
“Stupidly funny show. I thought my boyfriend was going to expire at one point. Please remember to breathe while you laugh!” –Joy-Amy Wigman
“5 star entertainment from a master of parody. Saw Christian in London by accident and was blown away by his musical interpretations of great musicians in the most hilarious way possible – saw him last night with 8 Fringe virgins and all said it was the highlight of the evening. Go enjoy this great show…” –David Gardiner
“First time we’ve seen Christian’s show after seeing 10 mins of him at a cabaret. We were not disappointed but laughed out loud for the whole hour. Talented and very clever, Would definitely go to see him again.” –Linda Renfrew
“Really great show, hilarious, clever and great musicianship. Very pleased we went along to see Christian! We’re still singing his songs.” –Sarah Bird
“Christian is very engaging, charming, and panders pleasingly to my liberal millennial snowflake sensibilities. He’s also very funny. Great tunes, great fun. The time flew by, I would absolutely see him again. Probably the same show, even!” –Dan Hough
“A fantastic show and a fantastic performer. First came across Christian two years ago at the Fringe. His show was so good we made sure he was top of our list this year. Go see and support the Free Fringe.” –Katrina Osborn
“Christian is always one of my must see shows at the Fringe because he always produced quality shows and this year is not exception! A top class show from a top class performer… 5 stars from me!” –Jonathan Lansky
“Brilliant fun… a packed race through pop history with great comedy added. Anyone with a music collection dating back a couple of decades should love it!” –Richard Wood

Absolutely brilliant. It was definitely the best Edinburgh Fringe show I’ve ever been to (and I live in Edinburgh). If you ever have the time to make a DVD of this show, I’d love to buy it just to relive it – looking forward already to getting your other DVD.

Christian’s reworked rendition of Billy Joel’s, ‘Just the Way You Are’, aimed at those of us in long-term relationships, was so hilariously funny that I actually had hysterics and cried with laughter. Bearing in mind that I had already seen Hal Crutenden and Phil Jupitus, who were both brilliant, Christian’s show was still the funniest thing I saw at the Fringe. Why is this guy not on TV?!! I’m booking tickets for his next year as soon as I can.
